29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) Rockvale 2 Laurel Site: On or about October 29, 2018, and at times prior, employees were exposed to calcium oxide (lime), while performing mixing operations without being informed of the hazards associated with that chemical. b) Asphalt Dryer: On or about October 29, 2018, and at times prior, employees were exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to, calcium oxide (lime), crystalline silica, and propane, while performing maintenance and cleaning operations without being informed of the hazards associated with these chemicals. c) Truck Bed Cleanout Area: On or about October 29, 2018, and at times prior, employees were exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to, diesel fuel, while applying the chemical as a release agent to the truck beds without being informed of the hazards associated with that chemical. d) Lab: On or about October 29, 2018, and at times prior, employees were exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to, Calcium Sulfate and Cobalt Dichloride (Drierite), while performing sample analysis without being informed of the hazards associated with these chemicals.
