29 CFR 1910.217(c)(2)(i)(a): Point of operation guards. Every point of operation guard shall meet the following design, construction, application, and adjustment requirements: (i)(a)It shall prevent entry of hands or fingers into the point of operation by reaching through, over, under or around the guard; a) On or about January 20, 2023, the employer did not provide and ensure the usage of "point of operation guards" in that the Walsh Press & Die Co No 55 full revolution press's sides was not guarded to prevent employees from reaching, through to the point of operation. b) On February 1, 2023, the employer did not provide and ensure the usage of "point of operation guards" in that the Aida 200 Ton Press serial number 00120-0162 part revolution press's point of operation was not guarded on all sides in that on one side of the point of operation there was no side guard, on the other side of the point of operation the pin guard was not properly set to prevent employees from reaching over, under, around or through the guard.
