29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i): The employer permitted respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or interfered with valve function: Location: Mirion Technologies, (Capintec) Inc. 7 Vreeland Road. Florham Park, NJ 07932. a) The employer permitted respirators with tight fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have facial hair. On May 8, 2023, an employee sanding shielding materials in the machine room was exposed to airborne lead concentrations of 120 micrograms per cubic meter of air as an 8 hour Time Weighted Average exceeding the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air by 2.4 times. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of 66 minutes. The shielding material used contained 99.99 percent lead. Violation occurred on or around May 8, 2023.
