Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary. The program shall enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways, and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards. On December 28, 2017 at the jobsite located at 5559 Anne Marie Dr., lot # 45, employees were utilizing an extension ladder inside a trench that was separated into two sections. The employees had not been trained by the employer to recognize the hazards of ladders and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
