29 CFR 1910.147(f)(3)(i): When servicing and/or maintenance is performed by a crew, craft, department or other group, they shall utilize a procedure which affords the employees a level of protection equivalent to that provided by the implementation of a personal lockout or tagout device. a. Located at 3610 West Pike, Zanesville, OH: On or about October 25, 2018, the employer did not have a procedure in place to afford employees protection from the control of hazardous energy (lock-out, tag-out) while cleaning the balers at the facility. The employees cleaned the balers, while not having exclusive control for their safety executing this task, thereby exposing the employees to a caught in and struck by hazard.
