29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area. As reference in 29 CFR 1926.59. Location: a) On the second floor of the jobsite at 126 Lafayette Street, New York, NY 10013: On or about March 7, 2023, employees were using handheld power chipping tools to chip into brick walls to demolish them while wearing N-95 respirators. The employees were exposed to respirable crystalline silica. The employer did not provide the employees with effective information and training on hazards of respirable crystalline silica.
