29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Production area Thomson die cutter: The arms on the sides of the machines that move the point of operation were not guarded to protect employees from rotating parts, on or about 7/13/15. b) Production area folding machine: A cover on the button operating the vacuum on the pendant for the Jagenberg folding machine was missing, on or about 7/13/15. c) Production area Lawson Pacemaker II guillotine: The two handed control buttons on the Lawson Pacemake II guillotine model 56 serial number BD2020 were not enclosed, on or about 7/13/15. d) Production area linoleum saw: The unguarded portion of the saw used to cut the linoleum rolls was not guarded, on or about 7/13/15 e) Production area text wrap machine: The external surface of the heater tunnel was not guarded to prevent burns, on or about 7/13/15. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
