Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: (a) Telecommunications Tower, 328 Stafford Forge Rd., West Creek, NJ; on or about June 28, 2019, Rise & Rise Wireless Inc. employees were installing upgraded equipment at the top of a 150 foot tall monopole telecommunication tower. An employee was walking/working on and from the T-bar antenna supports of the tower. The employer did not ensure that this employee had been appropriately trained to recognize the specific fall hazards associated with climbing and working on communication towers and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
