29 CFR 1910.1030(g)(2)(i): The employer shall train each employee with occupational exposure in accordance with the requirements of this section. Such training must be provided at no cost to the employee and during working hours. The employer shall institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program. a. Located in the USDA Packing Room at the workplace: On or about March 10, 2017, an employee had an occupational exposure to blood while cleaning and sanitizing the rollstock machine and working area after an employee received an amputation injury to the tips of two fingers when a guillotine cutter cycled while unjamming the machine. The employer did not ensure that the employee involved had received the required bloodborne pathogens training.
