29 CFR 1926.1101(g)(8)(ii)(A): Roofing material shall be removed in an intact state to the extent feasible. The Controlling Employer did not ensure that asbestos-containing shingles were removed in an intact state in that on June 14, 2018, subcontractor employees were using hammers and shovels to break up shingles for removal. Bulk samples revealed the shingles contained 10.38% chrysotile asbestos and the mastic 14.25% chrysotile asbestos.
