29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by and crushed-by hazards associated with trenching. This was most recently documented on December 20, 2017 at the jobsite located at or near 9750 East 53rd St N. in Bel Aire, Kansas. The employer did not ensure the use of benching, sloping, shoring or other means to protect against cave-in hazards.
