29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): a) Work site was located at 321 NJ 440, Jersey City, NJ 07305 Employees were exposed to cave in hazards when working in an open unprotected trench in Class C soil that was approximately seven feet, four inches deep and four feet, nine inches wide with sheer walls, with no sloping, benching or shoring to protect them. Violation was observed on or about February 27, 2020.
