29 CFR 1910.147(d)(2): Machine or equipment shutdown. The machine or equipment shall be turned off or shut down using the procedures established for the machine or equipment. An orderly shutdown must be utilized to avoid any additional or increased hazard(s) to employees as a result of the equipment stoppage. a) Assembly Line/Clean Room - On or about 3/9/2019 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to caught-in hazards, in that employees replacing the clamp pad on the GA 00-J00T/M Case Turn Over # 1, utilized the E-Stop button instead of locking out the machine energized with pneumatic (90 PSI), electrical (480-volt) and gravitational energies.
