29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Production area 12 foot weaving machine: The guard on the cabinet covering the clutch was removed exposing employees to pinch points, on or about 8/12/15. b) Production area 12 foot weaving machine: Moving parts of the machine, including the saddle, horse, worms with blade, cutter and turrette knuckler and twister, exposing employees to amputation hazards were not guarded. The moving parts are located next to the control panel that employees use to operate the machine, on or about 8/12/15. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
