29 CFR 1910.216(b)(3): 1910.216(b)(3) The employer failed to ensure that all auxiliary equipment such as mill divider, support bars, spray pipes, feed conveyors, strip knives, etc., were located in such a manner as to avoid interference with access to and operation of safety devices: On or about March 15, 2018, employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-in hazards when there was no emergency stop accessible to any employee caught in rollers on the belt conveyors. An employee caught in the rollers would be dependent on others noticing and stopping the rollers at a console. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
