Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 012 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.120(f)(6)(i): The employer did not provide to the attending physician a description of each employee's duties as they relate to the employee's exposures: a) Refrigeration Technicians trained as hazardous materials technicians and expected to provide technical support during an uncontrolled ammonia release were not provided medical evaluations appropriate for hazardous material response team members. Refrigeration Technicians were provided respirator medical evaluations in 2014. The attending physician was not informed the Refrigeration Technicians were assigned hazardous material response duties if an uncontrolled ammonia release occurred and the Refrigeration Technicians would be wearing self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and Level A personal protective equipment during training and uncontrolled ammonia releases.
