OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees drop-start chainsaws in preparation of cutting boards: (a) Mill Area. Employees operating chainsaws such as the Stihl MS362, S/N 215TTFC4026BD, with 18" bar, drop-start the chainsaw prior to cutting boards to specified lengths exposing employees to severe lacerations and amputations, as determined on March 5, 2014. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
