29 CFR 1910.119(j)(3):Training for process maintenance activities. The employer did not train each employee involved in maintaining the on-going integrity of process equipment in an overview of that process and its hazards and in the procedures applicable to the employee's job tasks to assure that the employee can perform the job tasks in a safe manner. a. The employer did not have a mechanical integrity training program for employees involved in process maintenance activities, including maintenance technicians, engineers and management responsible for equipment inspection, testing , quality assurance and maintenance. Employees performed multiple process maintenance activities, including maintenance of equipment, installation of new equipment, testing and evaluation of equipment, identification of replacement parts and equipment inspection/testing information review.
