29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Meat Production; Band saw Area: The unused portion of the five (5) Biro band saw blades were not guarded when cutting various sizes of meat, on or about 4/23/18. b) Meat Production; Band saw Area: End cut pusher plates were not used when cutting the last cuts of meat products or thin meat products on the five (5) Biro band saws, on or about 4/23/18. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
