29 CFR 1910.23(a)(2): Ladderway floor opening(s) or platform(s) were not guarded by a standard railing with standard toeboard(s) on all exposed sides (except at the entrance to opening) with passage through the railing either provided with a swinging gate or so offset that a person could walk directly into the opening: a) Injection Machine 33; On or about October 8, 2014 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to a 129" (10'-9") fall hazard in that employees were allowed to walk in a platform with an unguarded portion in front of the access ladder when performing tasks such as servicing the robot. SCA, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.23(a)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313852485, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 2/9/2010, with respect to a workplace located at Auburn AL.
