Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.22(a)(2): The floor of each workroom is not maintained in a clean and, to the extent feasible, in a dry condition: a) The employer does not ensure that the floors of work areas in the back building such as, but not limited to, areas near the Baker Products Band Re-saw, Swing Saw, MMT Notcher, and the Dewalt Miter Saw are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. Saw dust and wood debris is allowed to accumulate in large piles on the floors near woodworking equipment exposing employees to slip, trip, fall, and struck-by hazards. The violation was most recently observed on October 12, 2016. To abate this hazard, minimally, the employer must implement a housekeeping program to ensure saw dust and wood debris is removed on a regular basis so as to not pose hazards. A & D Wood Products, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.22(a)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 993582, citation number 2, item 1b and was affirmed as a final order on May 9, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 112 Ward St., Elida, Ohio 45807.
