Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycles: a. Airo Line, Lacom Machine - On or about March 20, 2018, employees were exposed to point of operation hazards, in that machine guarding was not provided to employees reaching into and removing materials from rolls of the machine. b. Coater 5, Tenter Station - On or about March 20, 2018, employees were exposed to point of operation hazards, in that the tenter pins were not guarded or covered exposing employees to caught- by and in-running nip point hazards. Mohawk Industries, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii) which was contained in OSHA inspection number1262536, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on January 31, 2018 with respect to a workplace located at 12001 Railroad Drive, El Paso, Texas 79934.
