29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: a) 6202 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19144 - The employer did not ensure that employees who were working in a excavation at a depth of approximately 11 feet in type C soil were protected from cave-ins, thus exposing the employees to struck-by and caught-in hazards. This condition was observed on August 16, 2019. Freedom Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1003224, citation number 1, item number 4, group a, and was affirmed as a final order on May 12, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 1028-32 Wood St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
