29 CFR 1910.265(c)(18)(i): Construction, operation, and maintenance of conveyors were not in accordance with American National Standard B20.1-1957, which is incorporated by reference as specified in Sec. 1910.6. Section 602 Pulleys, Sprockets, Sheaves, Drums, Blocks, states that all of these when located in working area where operators (other than maintenance men) are present, shall be arranged to prevent the possibility of injury due to hands or parts of clothing being caught between the belt and pulley, chain and sprocket, or cable and sheave, drum or block. a) Saw Mill, Stacker outfeed area; On or about May 28, 2020 and at time prior to, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employees were required to work around unguarded sprockets, chains, and shafts at the stacker outfeed conveyer. b) Saw Mill, Bark Hog; On or about May 28, 2020 and at time prior to, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employees were required to work around unguarded sprockets, chains, and shafts at the Bark Hog exit conveyer. c) Saw Mill, Head Rig vibrator; On or about May 28, 2020 and at time prior to, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employees were required to work around unguarded belts and pulleys at the head rig vibrator conveyer motor. d) Saw Mill, Head Rig Vibrator; On or about May 28, 2020 and at time prior to, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employees were required to work around unguarded shafts at the head rig vibrator conveyer motor. e) Saw Mill, Trim Saw Vibrator; On or about May 28, 2020 and at time prior to, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employees were required to work around unguarded shafts at the trim saw vibrator conveyer motor. f) Saw Mill, Trim Saw Vibrator; On or about May 28, 2020 and at time prior to, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employees were required to work around unguarded belts and pulleys at the vibrator exit conveyer motor.
