29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): Means of egress from trench excavations. A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress shall be located in trench excavations that are 4 feet (1.22 m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62 m) of lateral travel for employees. On December 28, 2017 at the jobsite located at 5559 Anne Marie Dr., lot # 45, an employee entered into an approximately 16 foot deep trench without suitable means of access/egress. The JK Excavating & Utilities, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 985293 , citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 8/27/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 3152 Shadowcreek Ct., Hamilton, OH.
