29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: Janiec Roofing, Inc, and Chet Janiec does not ensure that where portable ladders that were used to access an upper landing surface, the ladder side rails extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface that was being accessed. This violation was most recently observed, on or about 1/28/2021, at 11 Harrison Avenue, Saddle Brook, NJ, at instance (a) Two Story Single Family Home (Exterior Front): Employee engaged in roofing work used an extension ladder to access the roof above the main entrance door, the ladder did not extend three feet above the roof's landing. The employer did not ensure that the side rails of extension ladders used by employee extended three feet above the roof's upper landing, thus exposing employee to a fall hazard. The Janiec Roofing, Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1428641, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/4/21, with respect to a workplace located at 75 East Clinton Ave Bergenfield, NJ 07621. The Janiec Roofing, Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1398713, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/4/21, with respect to a workplace located at 500-504 Woodridge Ave, Woodridge NJ 07075.
