Changes to BCSP and CM Points for SGE's

SGE's in the past have been awarded BCSP, CM and CEU points for participating in the SGE training as well as VPP onsites. Recent changes to the points systems used by BCSP and ABIH have modified the points awarded to SGE's. Please see below for the updates.

SGE Policies and Procedures Current Language:
  1. Incentives/Benefits. In the interest of encouraging SGE participation and recognizing SGEs' value to VPP and OSHA, the Agency offers the following incentives/benefits:
    1. Certification Points. SGEs may earn Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification points by doing the following:
      1. Attending and successfully completing the VPP SGE three day training course. The certification maintenance points are noted on the bottom of the SGE Certificate of Completion.
      2. Participating in VPP on-site evaluations. Each 40-hour VPP on-site evaluation is equivalent to 1 CM point for CIH and .625 COC credit for CSP.
    2. Continuing Education Units (CEU). SGEs are awarded continuing education units upon attending and successfully completing the VPP SGE three day training course. The CEU points are noted on the bottom of the SGE Certificate of Completion.
