At 8:02 p.m. on January 31, 2017, an employee was leaning against a machine with a conveyor belt, observing products that were move past. The employee placed his left hand against the machine guard rail and inadvertently wrapped his fingers underneath the guard, amputating the first digit of the left ring finger and index finger.
