Investigation Summary
At 10:10 a.m. on July 10, 2017, Employee #1 was picking and packing table grapes at a vineyard. The crew boss noticed that the employee began to show signs of confusion and irrational behavior. The crew boss notified the supervisor of his observations, and the supervisor sent someone to pick up the employee and take her to the clinic. Employee #1 sat in the shade while she waited for a ride. A non-emergency vehicle transported the employee to a local hospital where she was admitted. While at the hospital, the employee suffered multiple seizures, and was placed into a medically induced coma. On July 12, 2017, Employee #1 was transferred to a larger facility, where she remained until discharge on October 2, 2017. It was determined that her illness was due to natural causes.
