Investigation Summary
At 11:00 a.m. on November 2, 2017, an employee was walking northbound along the west shoulder of the road. The employee was removing concrete from an existing junction box to modify the elevation of the box as part of a roadway resurfacing project. A motor vehicle traveling southbound struck the employee. Company records indicate the employees were trained in roadway work zone safety. The work being performed was normal routine work for the employees. There were no contributing weather variables, it was clear and dry. The employee was killed.
