Industry Hazards

Workers in the trucking industry experienced the most fatalities of all occupations, accounting for 11 percent of all worker deaths in 2017. Over 75 percent of these fatally injured truckers were involved in transportation incidents. Heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers had the third highest rate of nonfatal injury and illness when compared to workers in all other occupations.
